Legislative Network Graphs

Interactive visualizations of Illinois legislation, categorized by policy area and enriched with LLAMA-extracted features indicating political impact, intended beneficiaries, and increasing/decreasing aspects.

About These Graphs

These network graphs summarize legislative trends that may affect the University of Illinois. They visualize LLAMA-extracted features describing policy actions, affected domains, and (in the detailed models) intended beneficiaries.

Basic Impact Graphs

These graphs show the direct relationship between a policy aspect and the type of action being proposed (such as increasing, decreasing, modifying, or administering something). They do not include intended beneficiaries—only the policy action and what it applies to. These tend to be the cleanest and most visually interpretable graphs.

Three-Layer Impact Graphs

These graphs show a more detailed chain of information: Policy Aspect → Legislative Action (Increase/Decrease/etc.) → Intended Beneficiary.

They represent what the bill seeks to change, what specific policy target it acts upon, and who is intended to benefit. These models reveal legislative motivations and stakeholder impacts, making them ideal for deeper analysis.
